I've been a member of MFP for several years, but this is the first time I've ever reached out to the community. In early January of 2016 I gave birth to the most amazing little boy I've ever had the privilege of knowing. but with that beautiful baby came a lot of unwanted weight. I'm 4' 11" and 220, this is the biggest I've ever been in my entire life.

I recently bought a cook book consisting of healthy recipes, and I plan on trying to get to the gym at least three times a week. I think I may do better this time around if I have people to talk to; to lean on.

I've created this thread to hopefully attract women in similar situations for motivation, and socialization. After all, its always great to have great friends isn't it?

Hi there! I Just had my baby girl in April and I gained 80 lbs during my pregnancy! Over half of it was water weight and I lost 45 lbs in the first month. Now I'm down to losing the actual baby weight. Ive been working out and more conscious of what Im eating now and it's helped me lose a bit. I'm currently 5'7 and 194 lbs and trying to get back down to 165. Definitely hard and I don't want to be too hardcore with the calories as I don't want it to affect my milk supply since I'm exclusively breastfeeding.
Would love to keep in touch to share our stories since we are in very similar situations!

I did an amazing job, in the beginning, I think I was about 140 when I got pregnant and I was in the upper 170s when I had my baby boy. The first week or two I lost about twenty pounds, but I got to where I wasn't eating a whole lot (which definitely messes with your milk production), and when I did it was usually large amounts consumed quickly, or it was things like poptarts that didn't have a whole lot of nutritional value. As time went by I just kept gaining and gaining and gaining, so now I've decided to put my food down I guess you could say lol.

Well I think the important thing is you know you can lose the weight since you've done it before!! Is your milk supply back to normal again? I read that breastfeeding mama's need to consume at least 1500-1800calories a day and preferably on the higher end? If anyone knows different I'd love to know! So I've been sticking to 1800 calories and haven't noticed milk supply changes yet.... lol

I do the same thing with eating large amounts and crap food so I totally hear ya there.. I'm trying my best to meal plan ahead and only have healthy ish (hehe) snacks laying around.
