Friends at work were using it...and I love the control of calorie counting! I had to check it out.

How I discovered the forums...whole different story!

I previously used Calorie Count, but then kinda ended up here, I think google made me do it... I prefer MFP, so I stayed, been on here for years now.

I was browsing, for a Calorie Calculator & this was the 1st website, that appeared that wasn't a "sponsored" advertisement; I only click upon official sites!

When my company stopped paying for Weight Watchers I was looking for something similar I could do for free and stumbled upon this.

My doctor reminded me that people can lose weight without Weight Watchers. In my teens, I'd had some success with those paperback pocket book calorie counters, but since it was October 2016, I figured that there was probably a website for it. (I'd stumbled on one in the past but couldn't remember the name). When I typed "online calorie counting" into Google, MFP came up on the first page of hits.

I had no idea where I was going when I got here. I was just up for adventure & followed a treasure map on the back of a specially marked boxed of Captain Crunch. That led me to a mysterious island shrouded in a rainbow color fog. Once inside the fog, I had to follow a crumby pirate that went by the name A'hoy. I think his first name was Chip or something like that.
Anyhow he led me to the center of Donut Island(that was the name of this island that I discovered), where I had to jump in the giant donut hole to pass a worthiness test. Once I made the leap, I found a magical portal at the bottom of the hole that allowed me to log into this mysterious MFP dating site. Unfortunately, I have no use fore that, but also fortunately for me also has good resources on how to not be a fat *kitten*... So here I am, at the bottom of a hole in the middle of a giant donut, surrounded by rainbow fog all thanks to a box of delicious cereal. I haven't seen Chip in a while though. If I do I'll tell him A'Hoy from all of you.

A friend had me sign up when she did, by my profile that was 2010 :astonished: . I didn't use it (and probably didn't login) again until my youngest was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 2.5 years ago and the nutritionist suggested using it for carb counts for him. I really started using it for myself 4 months ago.

Recommended to me by my personal trainer. It's been a great help keeping a food diary. They need to improve how you enter your weight workouts. Make it more streamlined.

I knew a woman online for years who was "my kind" and by that I simply mean, plus sized and still confident, happy, attractive, etc. Then she lost around 100 lb (over 18 months or so) using something called My Fitness Pal, and unlike most people I knew (irl) who lost huge amounts of weight, she was still her same awesome self and not some weird person who only ate watermelon and looked sad all of the time...

I was in! Worked well for me, too. For a little bit I tried hooking other friends up with it when they lamented slow weight loss but so far most people I've mentioned MFP to just use it for a few weeks and don't see any loss and move on. I guess it isn't for everyone but it is for me...I am so glad I gave it a shot.

I was being evaluated by one of my trainers and he recommend I try it. I'm glad I did. It's a good food journal.

I was overweight all my life, and starting around middle school, I read articles here and there pertaining to weight loss. Idk exactly how, but in my mid-teens, I came across MFP. A friend told me that counting calories didn't work, and I stopped using MFP after a month or so. During my first year in college, I started thinking a whole lot more about my health and weight, and the following summer, I began my weight loss. I lost the first 10-15 lbs without MFP. I just cut back my portions and did rough estimates for calories. I used measuring cups for both solids and liquids (so glad to use a food scale now lol). One day, I happened to remember this website, and I've been logging in since then.
