Anyone have the Fitbit Alta and find it helpful?

I am trying to decide if I should get the new Fitbit Alta with the heart rate monitor. I have the old Fitbit Alta without the heart rate monitor and I find it kind of disheartening or disappointing when I don't reach a certain number of steps because it translates into a low calorie burn. I am also worried that the step tracking isn't completely accurate and doesn't truly reflect how hard I am working out. I am thinking the new one with the heart rate monitor might be more accurate and helpful but I'm not 100% sure. I don't want to waste money on something that isn't going to help my weightloss journey.
Anyone who has one, do you like it? Did you find that the heart rate monitor calculates you burned more calories than just with the step tracker?
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

I have the alta HR and I love it. Can't speak to how accurate, on the dot the HR monitor is but I can say it definitely knows when my heart rate is increased vs when it's not, so that to me is a better estimate of cals burned than just looking at steps.
I also find the TDEE estimates to be fairly accurate, and use that to calculate my daily cal deficit, rather than what MFP gives for the #of steps (which gives way too many cals in my opinion/experience).
It also gives you an approximate resting HR, which for me has VASTLY improved in the 2 months I've had it. Basically, if you're willing to drop the dough, I'd splurge for the HR1 -
I don't have an Alta but I highly recommend something that monitors HR. I have the charge 2 and it's fairly accurate with my heart rate - even picking up my sinus arrhythmia. And it definitely makes a difference IMHO when working out.2
