What I thought

When I lost my first 10 lbs. I thought well that's something. Not really all that enthusiastic about it since I had to lose 165 lbs. in total.
Then when I had lost 30 lbs. I thought that's good. I couldn't tell the difference. I knew at that point I had to probably get to 60 lbs. lost before I even could tell. Still thought it was a good start.
When I lost 51 lbs. I was happy for the first time. That put me below that dreaded 300 lbs. Thank goodness! Never ever thought I would be over 300 pounds.
Finally I lost 60 lbs. woooooohooooooo! Further away from 300 and I could tell it at last. One big way was, and I've said this many times, my belly was far away from the Jeep's steering wheel. They hugged each other for the longest time.
When I was down 63 lbs. I got my first compliment. That's how that works when you need to lose a ton of weight.
When I was down 70 lbs. I thought look how far I am from 300 pounds. Now that is cool. Then I'm only 49 lbs. from just being fat instead of morbidly obese.
Now I'm down 79 pounds and I think that is really good but not even half way. I watch my calories and exercise quite a bit. The biggest difference is I'm not as anxious about losing weight. Oh I want to lose weight and I'm on a mission. The thing is I know MFP works and I know exercising works. I'm just confident no matter what the scale says on any particular day I'm on the right path. It's a good place to be.

you are pushing forward and that is excellent... no one ever said it was easy, even after wls it is not easy, every day is a struggle. Think of it this way... ( Remind you I work in chemical dependency treatment) at some point you can put down the drugs or the booze, or the what ever the desire is and walk a way from it... Food is one addiction you HAVE to have to survive. You MUST feed yourself every day. Therefore being a food addict or overwieght is far mor difficult to kick then drugs or alcohol. So if you have lost 79 lbs... GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!! :drinker:0
