Hey guys. How many of you out there feel the way I do right now, that you're stuck in a rut? I need some good encouragement to fix my poor habits. Tell me what you do to get out of a fitness rut (when you feel like you can't do anything right!). I really could use some help right now!

Take a deep breath. Pinpoint why you're in a rut; what parts of fitness/life aren't stimulating right now? What changed? Did you stop being challenged?

If it's a fitness issue, sign up for a new class or try a new machine or maybe take a break from the gym and get outdoors instead. Try booking a personal trainer or a new fitness buddy. YouTube videos. There are so many things you can try!

However it sounds like you're also feeling down on yourself. Are you getting into a black-and-white mentality? Do you do any meditation? Self-improvement and self-acceptance go hand in hand, and it's important to maintain a positive relationship with yourself when you feel stuck.

Don't be hard on yourself. Listen to your body and your mind. Maybe stop logging and counting for a week. Do something fun!

I think what's annoying me is I'm not having any results! It's getting annoying, like no matter how hard I try I'm not feeling any change happen.

Are you frustrated with a) weight loss, b) weight gain c) aerobic fitness d) anaerobic fitness? I can't discern which from your two comments so far.

make sure that you are measuring your food as accurately as possible. also, if you do exercise, try not to eat all of the calories back. that being said i am in the midst of a rut right now. i was losing super quickly, but now i have hit a plateau i guess. i wish it happened closer to my goal weight lol. i just keep telling myself that if i continue to log and exercise i will eventually lose more. i also tell myself that by continuing to develop good food and exercise habits, i am becoming healthier. i'm glad that i shifted my focus to being healthy instead of being skinny, because i am staying more motivated than i would have in the past and i feel happier and more confident.
