Have you started any new exercise regime that would cause water retention? Or are you near ovulation or TOM if you are female?

A week isn't long, and weight loss is not linear. If you're not weighing daily, you might not be seeing the natural fluctuations that occur.

It's normal - your weight can fluctuate quite a bit due to normal causes totally unrelated to fat loss (or gain). Water weight and the last time you went to the bathroom are usually the largest culprits of swings.

For example...I went from 198 to 208 to 203 in the course of a couple of days and my calories in/out hadn't changed at all. It was literally a matter of how much water I was holding onto from the day prior and if I went to the bathroom right before weighing myself or not.

I started off weighing daily... I drink over 64ounces per day of water..and I'm on 1000-1200 calorie diet. It's kinda discouraging...so I'll try to wait to weigh every few days to see if I notice a change

A pint is a pound the world around. That 96 ounces of water weighs six pounds! Not that it's a bad thing to drink it but fluctuations are normal just based on water consumption alone.

Also, it's only been a week. I wouldn't sweat measurements too much at this point. Give it another two/three weeks and you should see your trends start to develop.

make sure you are weighing at the same time every day as well as wearing the same type of clothing. I weigh in the morning as soon as i wake up in boxers and socks so i know it can't be that far off.

Unless you had a ton of salt the day before and are retaining water like a dam.

Ask me how I know. Could be that I went a little nuts at dim sum yesterday...
