Drink a lot of extra water, walk a lot, if it will won't budge have a "junk" day. Pound all the junkfood you can on a single day... all the nasty stuff you want and have been avoiding. By doing that, your body will go into purge mode and release fat stores. (don't do that often though)

Exercise every day, and try to eat a bit more (I know! Sounds crazy but it looks like your net calories is under 1200 a lot of days... add just a couple hundred... an apple and natural PB maybe). Also try to make sure you drink plenty of water, that always helps me when I need the scale to budge.

Lack of water is a big issue as well as the lack of protein, both way too low. Under 1200 on some days and being so close to goal you may need to up it some.

Try to be more consistent on the exercise and on big exercise days, burning 500 calories, you need to eat more.

You have to give your body fuel to burn especially on big exercise days and when getting close to goal.

Be strong and stick to it and Congrats on being so close to goal! Enjoy the wedding, I am sure you and your daughter will be beautiful!

Keep your colon EMPTY, daily. Being stoved up can cause a lot of water retention.

Hello, there could be any number of reasons why you have plateaued. Since I cannot see your food and exercise diary, I can only speculate...
If you have been an a weight loss journey before joining MFP this might be a natural plateau and you might need a kick start to rev up your metabolism. ONE meal with some extra calories can help.
If you are at the beginning of the process, you might have overestimated your activity... adjust your profile to get a few less calories/day. But make sure that you are eating enough... don't go into starvation mode, not enough calories can cause your metabolism to slow down and hold onto calories. What kind of exercise are you doing?
FYI, I am a Certified Personal Trainer who lost 100lbs. Feel free to link to my profile or private message me. I get on when I can. :-)
  • Thanks for your help. And I appreciate advice from a real winner! The wedding is over, ha a great time thanks to MFP, but now back on the wagon. I have not weighed in a few days, but have upped my exercise to one and a half hours instead of one hour. Biking and walking.
What is interesting is on the days I don't exercise i eat a lot more and on the days I do a lot I am not as hungry. I will have to watch to make sure I don't go into starvation mode.
I did drop from my plateau by just cutting out all processed and salty food so I was thinner for the wedding, but the weight just jumpef right back on me.Still trying and haven't weighed in a few days
thanks for your expert advice. You are my hero!!! Trula
  • How do you keep your colon empty? Prune juice?
  • Thanks and congrats on your success with weight loss. Water is a challenge with me. Just don't ever feel that thirsty and hate going pee al the time!!!
  • There are lot sof great suggestions here!

The best thing is lots of water & making sure you're actually eating enough to avoid starvation mode!! That can be a problem for me too. I'm certainly not condoning binging out or anything, but a day "of fun" usually helps me too!

    Good luck hope it works!

I may have misunderstood this message, and if so, I apologize. However, I have to respectfully disagree with this recommendation. I just read a credible article by degreed professionals working in nutrition and weight loss, which specifically said not to do this. Calories are calories and sort of having some sort of malabsorption problem that prevents your body from digesting and absorbing the nutrients, what you put in your body via food/drink and the associated calories will not just pass through your body. Now if the poster meant stay within your calories but eat crap junk food that's different.

And I am so accustomed to staying within my net calories of 1200 that the one day a few weeks ago which I treated as a "free" day--wedding anniversary meal at a restaurant that my husband really likes but that I'm not so fond of due to limited "healthy" food options--I still ate only my maintenance calories.
