Good evening MFP community. My name is Anaru, I am 26 years old, and currently living in the Gold Coast of Australia, with my wife, who is carrying our first son, due at the end of the month, super excited. I went to the Drs office today and she advised me that I am morbidly obese and would need to lose weight if I want to see my son grow up. I am 183cm tall and 137kgs heavy. I have tried time and time again to lose weight, but to no success YET, I have never used this app before and would love to find someone who too is trying to get a bit healthy, and looking for an accountability partner. Very keen to connect and support someone else on their journey. I hope to meet someone soon. Until then, I need to start my journey bless to all

Hi Anaru, we are starting from about the same place so going to send you a request.
I have a little boy and another on the way so have an idea of what you have to look forward too lol. Kids seem to have endless energy so your doing the right thing starting now.0 -
Well as a women who gave birth 1 year ago, having a husband make me fresh salads and fruits and lean meat would have been great as that is what I craved after birth (my fiancé is amazing but doesn't cook!). So take the opportunity to be in charge of the kitchen for a little while. I suggest cooking healthy meals in a crockpot and freezing them in servings as both of you will be tired and want to eat a bunch of carbs or takeout. Your wife will be very busy if she plans to breastfeed and need healthy food with lots of protein, fiber and veggies. My mom prepped us a bunch of frozen meals and I made frozen omelets and breakfast burritos and it really helped.
That's my 2 cents!0 -
It's not for all but worked for me protein / meal shakes. I used herbalife. I love food and sometimes don't know how to portion it and snack to much . This was great for me I just blend up a shake and off I go . It surprisingly kept me full and my calories were always tracked . Good luck to you! And congrats ! Feel free to add me for support0
