Hi everyone, who's on Team 20 for teh August challenge!??
I'm Gemma, I'm 28 and I live in UK, Hove by the sea. I'm an accountant by day but a knitter, stitcher, crocheter, quilter seamstress by night (and weekends)
I have lost 10lbs so far and have 11lbs to go so gonna have a good bash at shifting a few over August!
Thought it would be a good think to introduce myself and say Hi to my new team mates. :flowerforyou:

I'm Barbara I live in Allen TX. I'm a victim of the education budget battles at this time so I am an unemployed teacher. I make rag dolls to keep myself busy and because I love dolls. Check them out at cuddlesandcurls.etsy.com.
I have lost 13lbs so far and have 16lbs to go and I absolutely can't believe it. I've been trying to loose these pounds since my last child was born and she's 15 now. Nothing has worked for me like MFP. It makes it all so clear for me.
Thanks for starting this thread Gemma!0 -
Hi Gemma!
My name is Erin and I'm 31 years old. I'm married to James and we have 2 boys - 2 and 4 yrs old. (oh and 2 dogs and 2 cats...full house )
I'm an IT contract worker at a chemical dependency hospital currently, but looking for somthing more stable and with benefits.
I joined MFP looking to track my calories on my Droid, but then found this amazing network of encouraging and inspirational people! I have about 25 pounds left to get to my goal weight and have lost 7 lbs so far. I tend to be a competitive person, so I hope this challenge gets me more motivated to exercise more!!
This is my first challenge, so I hope I do well for both myself and my team!0 -
Hi Gemma!
I'm Brandy and I am a 31 year old single mom to a handsome 5 year old little boy (I'm a little biased). I work in the accounting department for an apartment locator here in Texas, and I absolutely LOVE my job!!!
I have battled weight my whole life. It started young for me, while my older sister was perfection on 2 legs. My parents constantly told me, "You should be more like your sister." So I ate my feelings. I'm now committed to stopping this cycle, getting emotionally healthy as well as physically healthy. I've been working on the emotional part for the last year, and I'm finally in a place where I KNOW I can do this physically!
My all time goal is to do a tri-athalon. I don't care where I finish, I just want to finish and not die while trying. I want to show my son what really living healthfully is. I don't want to feel like I turned 31 and everything is falling apart. I'm not that old!!!! I want him to be proud of his mom and I want him to know that anyone can achieve anything, all they have to do is apply themselves. I also want to lose this weight because I'm tired of having to shop in the plus sizes and the clothes not fitting right. I want to FEEL attractive (yes it is a state of mind, however if you have 100 lbs of fat on you, your mind is affected) in clothes.
Sorry for the novel, but it's nice to meet you all!

Hi-
I am a 20-year-old college student ,majoring in Political Science, from MD. I had recently lost 22lbs on Weight Watchers, but then gained back 6lbs with the introduction of the PointsPlus Program. I have just recently decided to ditch Weight Watchers and get on board with MFP. I hoping this challenge will revamp my body and push me past the plateau I have been on. Also, I hope to get a little closer to my goal with before going back to school.0 -
Hi Team 20! My name is Shanna - wife for 20 years, mother to 2 (16 & 18) and I teach a K-1 combination class at a small Christian school in the San Diego area. I have struggled with my weight my whole life and even went as far as to have a lap band put in place about 5 years ago - lost a lot of weight quickly (about 70 lbs in 5 months) but then it slipped and needed to be removed. Long story short...gained it all back PLUS about 40 more. Ugh! Anyway...I'm in it for the long haul and I've lost about 89 lbs since January! I'm currently doing P90X plus additional cardio for exercise. August is going to be a GREAT month and I look forward to getting to know each of you!! GO TEAM!!

Hi. I am Sherrie. I am 36. I have one son whom is 18. I currently live with my signaficant other who has a daughter who is a Senior in HS and his alcohoic 21 year old son (who moved back in March) plus a 2 year old. Needless to say always something stressful going on in our 2 bedroom trailer.
A little bit about me I have struggled with my weight for years. I wasnt skinny in HS although I wasnt fat. I really would love to get back to my HS weight which I dont remember although it was around a 30 inch waist. My heaviest recorded weight would be around 250ish and was wearing a size 22W.
Currently I am 183.8 lbs and wearing size 14 loosely (it my gut that is keeping me in size 14, cause they are loose in the waist and thighs). I entered my MFP goal weight as 150 (seems like a nice number) although I really aint focusing on what the scale says as much as I am a pair of pants that I want to fit into again.
Since Easter I have struggled with the weight of 184 - 190+ due to emotional eating. 5 months is a long time when you think about it. Although, if it wasnt for this site and some of the awesome ppl I have would of done pulled a "F" it like I have done so many times in the past.
Also I am starting college for the first time in my life August 15.
Best of luck to each and everyone of you.0 -
