Help logging weight lifting

Hi everyone,
I am about a week into weight lifting and I am getting a bit frustrated with MFP. Every time I log my weight lifting session (ex 4 sets of 12 tricep overhead extensions, etc) it tracks them but does not provide any calories burned. I know weight lifting burns calories and I find myself going over my daily goal (by 50-150 calories) every day I weight lift because my body needs more fuel since I am exercising but MFP does not give me any calories back for logging . Does anyone know if there is a way to calculate or input calories burned from weight lifting manually or should I just say whatever and not care if I go in the red on those days? Thanks!

I don't bother. What I do is log all my exercises on the "workit"app. Free and an excellent app. Then for a 60min weight session, add in a weightlifting session. Which is about 266 cal an hr. With the cardio. Which is 20mins x trainer which again is about 320 cal. So each session down the gym earns me about 600cals.

Don't forget, that weightlifting is still cutting cals hours after you finish, so it could be more.

Go into the cardio side and log "strength training." It'll give you a few calories. Not many. I think I get about 150 for 45 minutes.

This. I'll typically do 3-5 cals burned per minute depending on the type of workout I do.

Thanks I just tried it and it worked! It does seem weird you have to log it under cardio but whatever as long as I get my calories back lol. Thanks for all the tips!

The strength section is more for keeping track of lifts/sets/reps, not for calorie burning.
