The dreaded withdrawals

Anyone here thinking about giving up their nicotine addiction? I'm on my last couple bottles of e-liquid so not long to go. Gona get myself back to the gym and out on my bike to help stave off cravings. Definitely not wanting to pile on the weight when I stop so hopefully that should combat it. But I might turn into a bit of a cranky cow that's the only thing lol

I drank water every time I found myself in the kitchen looking to snack while I was in the initial phase of quitting. I was still a raging *kitten* and I peed a lot but I didn't gain anything.

Ever time your pees? What was your longest? I hit 45 seconds once.

Should probably get that prostate checked.

Why go cold turkey like that? What level of nic are you vaping at the moment? If it's like 6 or 12 then go a step lower - try to get to 3 and then try 0 for a bit. Trust me, stepping down like that makes it a LOT easier. If you are already at 3 and just want to cold turkey it at that point it's mostly going to be about finding something to replace the habit with - gum, life-savers, something to do with your mouth and hands when you get bored or have an urge. Good luck!

I quit cold turkey almost 7 years ago. My go to was carrot sticks and water. If that didn't work, I went for a walk, cleaned the house, went to the gym. Wish you the best!!!

I'm in a similar boat. There is no perfect time, and I know it will be hard. I think I'll step down my dose and slowing get to the stage of not buying anymore.

I used nicotine patches to get me through.
Reduced the dose over three weeks and got rid of this habit two years ago.

What they say about gaining weight seems to be true though. 9 months later I had almost 40 lbs more and wasn't even pregnant ... That's why eventually I ended up here.

Might have been worse, I suppose

Is Chantix an option for you? Everyone's different obviously but I had little to no cravings when I used it to quit smoking about 7 or so years back.

It's fun for me, I am not sure about you. Depends on what you're into.

Eat organic, hand-made whipped cream. Helped with my chips cravings.

This is just weird. I can't even. You can't be serious

    Ha!

Is there a limit on the number of checks? Or do we just establish a safe word?

Is harder an acceptable safe word?

I want to quit smoking SOO badly, but I'm terrified to do it. Mostly bc I quit for 8 months but that was two years ago and I started again the day my father died. Been hiding it from my boyfriend ever since. So, need to quit but don't know how to finally just let it go. Did it cold turkey last time. Going to have to do the same this time. I have to get over the initial fear somehow. But every time I make a plan, I make excuses. Ugh.

Im going down on the nic. slowly I started at an 18 and just finished my 12 bottle, so I have a 9mg ready to go. Im not sure if this will make it easier or not but im hoping to have quit completely in the next two months.
