My food goal has my sugar intake set at 62 grams of sugar per day. At lunch i eat mostly fruit so I can keep my calories low. But it generally eats up all of my sugar allow and and then some. would this be sabotaging my weight loss?

Not unless it's knocking you out of a caloric deficit.

Weight loss is calories in vs. calories out. As long as you are meeting your calorie goal consistently, you will lose weight.

Mostly fruit for lunch? That would leave me hungry in no time. Your more important macros are protein & fat. Protein (is filling) and is also one of the things that will help you keep (more) lean muscle while losing weight. Dietary fat helps you absorb certain vitamins, and is good for healthy skin and nails (so much more).

I don't even track sugar because it's a carb which is tracked already.....and I don't have medical issues so I track fiber instead.

Should I eat less ADDED sugar? Yes, but MFP has no way of tracking that. So I keep sugary snacks in check.

I don't track sugar, either. It's a carb. I'm already tracking carbs. I switched to fiber, too.

No, not as long as you're within your calorie goal.

Also, as long as the fruit calories aren't driving other needed nutrition (e.g., protein, fats, veggies) out of your eating, or causing blood sugar issues (as they might if you were diabetic), you're completely fine all the way around.

    Carry on!
