"vanity pound" weight loss

I've noticed I simply cannot drop these 5 lbs. I gained them since being on Depo, and NOT being stressed(lol). It's just 5 lbs.
I try to stay at my 1300 something calories, when I don't I make certain I make up for it by eating a little less the next day.

Am I just consuming too few calories? Is my body comfortable where it is. My BMI is well well within a healthy range.

I'm not too certain I should be going crazy to re-attain a figure I know that I only had because of a stress induced inability to eat.

I'd suggest upping your calories a bit, and exercising more.

Depo is pretty notorious for making the pounds come off slowly. (As soon as I post this, I know there will be a pro-Depo lady post with some amazing success story to move my point wrong.) Even off of Depo, a good number of women find weight loss to be a bit harder than it should be.

That being said, I would also recommend that you up your calories a bit. Maybe to 1400 or 1500. With only 5 pounds to lose, it is going to come off very slowly, more than likely only a fraction of a pound at a time.

I lost my last 10 pounds on 1500 calories, plus exercise calories for an average of 1800 a day. Try upping them, and make sure you get loads of protein.

Have you had your body fat tested? I would look at body fat percentage and set your goal from that. That's more relevant than the number on the scale.

I have been slowly losing my vanity weight and building muscles by eating a cleaner-paleo style diet (between 1500 and 2100 calories depending on my work for the day)---LOTS of protein and good fats, and strength training.

I agree with everyone else - up the calories. Up the protein and the fiber - at least 30% of your calories for protein. Aim for 26 grams of fiber a day.

Watch sugar. No more than 10% of calories from sugar. Watch carbs too, I don't go extremely low here - about 30% sometimes 25%, but never over 40%. :)

Also try high intensity interval training, and lifting heavy weights.

Yes, it's going to take a long time to get those last 5 off. I've got 7 to go, I hope to make it by the new year. That's my goal!

thanks all! I'm going to up my calories a bit. I've had a problem in that being a single mom, I can only go to the gym on days I odn't hve my kids(cannot afford gym w/daycare).

But I think I've decieded to do the 30 day shred when I do not have them.

I do plenty of strength training and cardio on days I do not have them now, usually way under on my carbs... But I'll continue to watch everything!

I do Turbo Fire in the mornings while my kids are sleeping.

I've decieded to do it when they got to bed.
I have to get up for work at 530am to get them to daycare and miss traffic! lol
It's hard to find time when I have them, but clear I need to.
