What do I do if I have to go to the hospital for a colonoscopy and have to fast for the day before?

You follow your doctors instructions for preparation.2

How long does it take to feel normal again. I mean after drinking all that solution?0
-
Can anyone help me?0

Follow the intrustructions by your doctor. You don't want to repeat this procedure because you didn't get everything out.1

Am I going to be able to sleep tonight?0
-
Nope0

I see you have asked multiple different questions in new threads. I'm not sure how long it will take for you to feel normal after drinking the stuff they give, that's going to depend on your body. Whether you sleep tonight or not is going to end up depending on your body as well.
I highly suggest writing all your questions on a piece of paper and calling the doctor's office or the after hours help line.2 -
I won't be able to login my food choices because I have to fast for the day before my colonoscopy. I tried to complete my daily dairy it won't accept my low calorie count. What should I do?0

Thanks for the help!0

Don't complete the entry then.0
-
Let it go. Completing your diary isn't necessary.0
-
Believe me you won't even be thinking about logging once the prep starts to work

Don't complete your diary. It's not necessary for anything except a weight loss prediction which wouldn't be accurate anyway.2

I have had many colonoscopies so if you have any questions I can try and answer.1

When did you start prep? If you are almost finished than maybe a bit0
-
It takes a few days to get completely back to normal but usually after the scope you won't be having the diarrhea problem. Just know that's they pump a lot of air into you during the scope so you'll be gassy afterwards0

Most will actually have a nurse call you a few days before to make sure you understand the instructions.
The most important thing is to follow the eating part of the prep to a "T". Just as important as the clear liquid diet the day before is the low fiber diet you start a few days before.
The evening you do the laxative, make sure you have disposable wipes with aloe on hand and do not wipe, blot. I also put a protective pad on the bed when I was sleeping "just in case". Didn't need it but I felt better. I felt "normal" as soon as I could eat after the procedure.1 -
I regret not having Vaseline or diaper cream around to protect the sensitive skin before the eruptions started.
The prep routine is slightly different with every surgeon. Follow your instruction sheet exactly.1 -
No, you'll be on the toilet a lot0

I think I was up once the last time I had one.0

For me I had the procedure in the morning. Felt fine by late that afternoon. I do tend to recover quickly from medical procedures.0

I should have mentioned for normal people this is the case. I have crohn's so laxatives mess me up for a while. Thankfully I never ever have to do prep ever again.0 -
