Does the app automatically calculate how many grams of sugar, protein, carbs, fats you should be eating when you put in your goals (weight loss for me)? Or is that something you modify yourself? Thank you!

I update on the MFP website under Home/Goals. When you are on the phone App you see the updated information when you are in the Diary (shows the days food/exercise entries). Go to the bottom of the page and click on 'Nutrition'.

I adjust on the website under Home/Goals. Then when I'm on the App, it shows the updated information at the bottom of the diary page with your food/exercise entries, click on 'Nutrition'.

The app calculates a starting point for you, but if you're premium then you can change the grammes yourself (although this will also change the calories so be careful!).

If you turn your phone sideways while on the Diary page, you should see it in numbers of grammes.

Yes! MFP does this. Premium is not necessary to get this feature. But you have to go to http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings and pick them from the list of "Nutrients Tracked:" to see them in your food diary.

You can, if you want to!

My answer is based on the web version. It's possible that the app version behaves differently.
