So I am starting my journey back to health today, and I'm hoping to find and give support on here.
I am a 31 year old female and at 277 lbs, I have never been heavier. I know that to be healthy I must lose at least 100 lbs.
This weight has made me afraid, depressed, and anxious to the point that I have stopped functioning normally in society-- and I'm so tired of it. I've been drowning mentally and physically for too long!
I have rejoined Weight Watchers and feel optimistic. Exercise for me is going to have to start off slow. My at home exercise bike is fairly uncomfortable to ride, so my goal will be 20 minute walks. If anyone has similar feelings about exercise or thoughts about Weight Watchers, please let me know. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Walking is a FANTASTIC exercise, and it burns almost as many calories as running the same distance. And weight loss is easier with exercise, but it's not required. All that's required for weight loss is a calorie deficit, which you can create with calorie counting/portion control alone. The walking is a bonus!
Welcome to MFP, my friend. One thing that helped me when I was starting out was to focus on small goals within the big goals and celebrate them. You have 100 pounds to lose. Make your first goal 10 pounds. When you hit it, celebrate! Another thing that helped was to remember to always be honest with myself. If it goes in my mouth, it goes in my food journal. That alone is eye-opening.
You've got this! :flowerforyou:1 -
I just read your post. I could have written your exact post. My name is Tracy. Today is day one. I am 273lbs and I too want to loose 100lbs. I have 0 confidence in my self. I am so tired of living this way that it's time to change. Good luck with your journey.1
