What to do

So I have been the doc to get an overall physical and am still waiting back from him (on vacation) but when I mentioned to him that I was having trouble losing weight he said I needed to drop my calories from 1700 to 1300 or 1000. I have dropped to 1300 but usually eat my about half of my exercise calories. However, I am just not seeing the weight come off and I am getting angry now. I have been doing this for about a month and a half and am down 7 pounds. I am unsure what if I should be eating my exercise calories or not? Should I see someone like a dietician and see what they have to say? Of course I will wait to hear with the doc has to say. This is a huge challenge for me because I usually can drop weight fairly quickly but since the last time, I have had two kids and I don't know if that also has something to do it with. Can anyone offer advice?

I can sooo relate to you on this one! I too have lost 7lbs, seems the second time around is a lot harder. After my two boys the weight just doesn't come off like it use to. Try to limit yourself to the healthy stuff to eat. It's hard here because of the snacksI buy for the boys but we are working on it. Everyone is different so its hard to say. The doctor of course will be able to tell you more but I know overall its making healthy decisions when it comes to food. Good luck and remember your not alone!

Wow! 7lbs in a month and a half is awesome, you are losing a little over a pound a week, which is ideal weigh loss and a healthy weight loss. When I initially lost weight I kept my calories at 1300, and then as my metabolism sped up, I started eating some of my exercise calories.

7lbs in a month and a half is a good, sustainable pace, I don't think anything is wrong here.

7 pounds in a month in a half is a little over a pound a week. That's great! Just be patient and keep up the good work. Having kids, hormones, age, the amount of sleep that you get, thyroid, all of these things can all play a factor in the weight loss. I hope your doctor results turn out good!

I"m confused. You say you aren't seeing the weight come off and then go on to say you lost 7 pounds in about 6 weeks. That is an excellent rate of loss. Not quite sure exactly what you are expecting but what you are doing is in fact working and I probably wouldn't change anything.

I agree that 7lbs in 6 weeks is good! I have only lost 2 lbs in 3 weeks, so you're doing better than someone! :0)
