Emotions...

Hello everyone,
I am back on after so long of being away. I have always told myself that i would not go over 300 lbs, and i weighed in almost at that number. I am an emotional eater. Big time. I am almost thru with my divorce after being married for 19 years. I relocated to missouri after 32 years in florida. I left everyone i knew there, and i only have friends at work now. I have always been a quitter. Always scared that i wont lose the weight, always scared that i will be alone for the rest of my life. I see the looks from other people, the snickers and comments about how fat and disgusting i look. I dont have a clue how to get going in the right direction.
I joined club fitness tonight online. I need to push myself to get into the gym and work out, and i need to lose this weight once and for all.

A few things cause people to quit, but the biggest is lack of actual commitment. Unlike a marriage, the only person you have to answer to when it comes to weight loss is YOU. So can you commit to you? Only you know. Don't worry about what others say or do. Learning how to discard how people view you will take you much much further than analyzing why they are saying it. Start with the basics...........................just eat less and count calories. For workouts, I suggest walking on the treadmill or using a bike or elliptical just so you can get used to being there. From there you add on a little bit at a time. You may end up doing sessions with a trainer and learn how to confidently exercise. Good luck.

I agree with ninerbuff.
I too am an emotional eater. Whether it's happy, angry, sad, stressed or anything else I eat to feed my feelings.
The good thing is that you know that you do this. Admitting it to myself was the first step.
First things first: stop paying attention to how others feel about you and start paying attention to how YOU feel about you.
If you don't like it then it is time for a change.
Now... in order for weight loss to work you have to want it more than anything. More than food. More than watching your favorite show on tv. More than your friendships. I say friendships because once you start to better yourself and saying no to unhealthy situations some "friends" will slowly drift away, but you'll replace them with even better people.
Start in the kitchen. Throw out ALL unhealthy food in there. If it is in your face it is too tempting. Do research on weight loss. Find out what foods you can and can't eat and why. The internet is at your hands. Use it. Make a daily meal plan including drinks, snacks and if you plan on eating out. Log it. AND STICK TO IT.
I personally go to the grocery store every 3 days and buy only what I plan on eating.
As far as the gym goes. Start off easy. You don't want to push yourself too hard and end up hurt. But know you will be sore because your body isn't used to it. Again research how to begin exercising, what exercises you should do, and how it affects your body.
If you can afford it schedule a couple sessions with both a nutritionist and a trainer.
Keep in mind you will slip up from time to time. You'll have a cheat meal. You'll go out to eat and eat more than expected. You'll gain 2 pounds one week. You'll stop losing for a week or two. But you will never let it stop you from reaching your goal!!
You CAN do this and don't you dare let anyone tell you differently.
One last thing. It is so important not to deprive yourself. Have a chocolate bar every now and then. Buy a mini Blizzard from Dairy Queen once a month. Or order a small pizza. Everything in moderation.
We are all here for you!!

Honestly you will feel amazing once you reach every single one of your goals! Start with 20lbs and make sure to stick to you calorie goal and add treats as long as it fits in it like last girl commented. I eat pizza once a week but just a slice or 2 depending on if it fits in my goal. I have 1 sweet treat under 100 calories per day and i work out. I was 264lbs 2 month after giving birth and lost 14 lbs in 1 year then got serious and lost 26lbs in 2 months!! It's very doable and everytime a smaller size fits, it's worth sooo much more than the binge you may want to have!
You can do it to!0 -
