Lose 40 pounds

I want to lose 40 pounds...but I dont want to go on a "diet." I simply want to create a calorie deficit through food choices and low impact exercises 30 minutes a day. I can't do high impact due to symphasis pubic dysfunction...got it during pregnancy in 2013...

If you have lost weight following a similar plan, just simply logging calories and low impact exercising, was it difficult?

My problem is I haven't been able to stick with anything for an entire year. I have maintained my exact weight (fluctuating 4 pounds up/down) because every week I change my mind and try something new...some diet or gimmick...when logically, I know all these methods work because of a calorie deficit.

Looking for straight forward advice. Thanks

Hi. Tracking does work. I lost 40 lbs on a different program. When I didn't track I stayed the same weight or gained a lb or 2. It's not easy for me because I'd rather just go about my day without thinking about it but it does work. I also have to be honest and not leave anything out.

    Hi honeybee739,
I also want to lose 40 and do it just simply by calorie counting and not having to workout to the extreme like I've done in the past. I have lost a total of 82 lbs from my very heaviest...but it's taken a few years. That is only because I haven't always been the most consistent. I'd like to lose the rest of my 40 lbs by the end of this year. I too change my mind alot about things...:/But I don't want to kill myself with exercise either. I believe that the most important thing is calorie consumption. :)
We can do this! Hope you stay motivate and get to your goal.

This is the best place to be if you want to eat the same but track your calories so you don't "over" eat on the foods you are eating. I eat what I like in moderation of course but I've cut out the greasy, deep fried or fast food type stuff. I just got back at this a few weeks ago and I know my triggers so I make sure to keep away from those at least until I get a good routine going.

I lost weight last year and got to goal too fast and this time I'm taking it slower. but I started back in January trying to lose weight and I too kept experiencing the up and down between the same 3-4 lbs and would never actually lose weight so I kept giving up. I think I've re-started on MFP about 4 times this year and this time I'm going to do it! We can do this!
