I'm just getting back into the gym thing, so my endurance isn't fully up, but I would love to hear some of your tips on what you do.
I normally do jogging for ten minutes on the track, 20 minutes on the elliptical, and some free weights or weight machines.
I always feel so lost at the gym.

I spent a couple of weeks just doing the treadmill in order to get my endurance up a bit. Then a week doing both treadmill and weights three days a week. I started off easy on the weights just to get used to it again, and so I wasn't so sore for the first couple of weeks.
Currently, I lift and do cardio 5-6 days a week focusing on chest, legs, back, shoulders, and arms Monday through Friday respectively.
Not sure which gym you go to, but often they have a trainer who can help you create a workout program suited to your goals. Check at your gym to see if they have someone who can help you get a program set up. They often times will also shadow your for your first and second run through to make sure you're using proper form and help answer questions.2 -
Awesome! Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can get a trainer or someone for a few session to show me what I need to do! I just moved so this gym is so completely new to me. I use to go to the gym (years ago before my divorce) and I felt like I knew that gym so well.0

See if they have free training sessions (most gyms do). Then go online. There are literally 1000's of workout plans for every stage and goal. Just find one that is at your level and your goals and follow it. Following a premade plan will help you keep on track, especially when you're just starting out again.1

Ok awesome!! I just get so nervous around some of those hardcore gym people that I tend to just stick to what I know.0

I recommend you download the BodySpace app and follow a program from the tens of choices to choose from. This puts your entire workout on auto-pilot. It has exercises for the day already pre-selected for you. And you can look at instructions and guide videos for every exercise from inside the app.
This app has been my only reason for going to the gym regularly since 2013. I totally swear by it now.2 -

Those "hardcore gym people", are usually the most understanding and helpful. They were all beginners once. They've all made mistakes and have learned from them. Don't be intimidated by them.4 -
