Sweat Wipes? Sweat and Skin?

Hey... so I work up to 2 times a day now and sometimes it's during lunch hour at work. I sweat (of course) and was wondering if there were any sweat wipes or shower wipes anyone can recommend? I have to go back to my office right after and want to freshen up at least a little bit more than a towel wipe!

I am not dirty - I would shower if I had time, but I don't - not for 2 to 3 times a day anyway. I shower every morning and sometimes again in the evening if I worked out immediately after work and had a lot of sweat (like drenching).

Side question: Okay this is going to sound DUMB!!! My friend once said (and trust me I thought it sounded stupid too) that if you work out and sweat alot but don't shower immediately after, the sweat seeps back into your skin and you can gain the water weight you sweated off back... This is rediculous, right?? Or is there some truth to it?

no not true, if it were any time you went swimming you would puff up like a sponge,

worse that happens from not showering of sweat is stink. or someone with sensitive skin could get itchy
  • Sounds ridiculous.. umm, you could use scented or non scented baby wipes for a quick freshen up. My kids are older now but I still buy baby wipes regularly as they can clean surfaces without leaving a soapy residue. I even use them to remove my makeup! They are gentle and non drying to my face!

It could also make you break out. Sweat creates a moist environment, which bacteria love. Bacteria+clogged pores (makeup, environmental grime, etc.)=acne.

Oooo I've been wondering about this for a while. I am always tempted to try to workout during lunch but I can sooo not afford to be all sweaty/smelly afterwards since I receive clients.

Well I sit behind a desk at work and not a lot of people see me. After my lunch time workout I usually just towel off, change back into my work clothes, and tie up my hair.

But I would also like to wipe off my skin with some kind of shower wipe - I have seen women use them at the gym in the locker room (even though there are showers right there!)... where do I get them?

Hmmmm. I think stores like CVS or Rite Aid have wipes like soft cloth that I've heard of too. But I've never tried them. I suppose baby wipes would be good too, but I don't always like the smell of them. I always keep them in my car for my hands and if I am desperate then I will use them on my face sometimes, but then my skin gets irritated. :/

Something like this can probably be found in stores as well as here on Amazon ........

Here's another you might be able to find at a sporting goods / outdoor store .......

If you have a Costco membership (or a friend who does), they sell their own brand (Kirkland) of face wipes that I've been using after I work out and don't have the ability or time to shower. They have a nice (non-baby) scent and do a great job of removing both sweat and/or makeup. They're quilted and have chamomile and tea extracts.

The only bad thing is that my dog loves them. If I throw them in the trash can in my bathroom, she will eat them. Whole.

There is something in the aisle where they sell adult diapers and " ladies items" that they use for people who can't bathe by themselves. It comes in packs just like baby wipes but they are thicker and dont smell like baby powder. Can't remember the name or how much they cost tho.

  • I came across Wrips Wipes at Marathon I was running in San Francisco back in July. They were handing out the wipes and I grabbed a few. They worked really good. It did not dry my skin and I felt really clean. I used my extra sample when I finished a grueling spin class and had to pick up my 5 yr old. I did not feel sticky and almost forgot that I needed to shower when I got home. The person at the marathon told me they would be on sale at Wholefoods but I never found it there and I ended up going to their website to order it.
