Hi
I am considering starting a Jazzercise class on Monday. Anyone do it? If so what is it like? Have you benefitted from it? Weight wise? Inches wise?

I absolutely LOVED Jazzercise!
Did it years ago when I was real heffer and lost 40lbs. It was so much fun and such a good workout! I wanted to do it again instead of joining a gym but the class schedule in my area changed and there was only 1 class a week I'd be able to get to. :frown:0 -
Oh. My. Gosh. I LOVE JAZZERCISE! It is the most fun workout I have ever done. It is basically dancing for 40 minutes and 20 minutes of strength training to music. Generally most songs stay the same class to class and they rotate in and out 1 or 2 a week so that it doesn't get old. Your fist class will feel like you'll never get it, but each time it is easier and easier. They also use a lot of current music, so I hear songs on the radio and break into jazzercise routines all the time... :blushing: I'm kind of a dork I know... But anyway, I think jazzercise is great, and they advertise that you burn up to something like 650 calories a class. I've never used a hrm, but I do feel like a get a good workout. Also, your first class is free, so you should at least try it out once :-)0

Love it too....but as you can tell from my profile pic, I'm on a bit of a hiatius right now. I agree with everything the above poster said. We happen to have a large center right by my house, so it isn't hard finding a class, some areas have less classes depending on demand and where they hold the classes at (some in churches or community centers). I usually burn around 400 calories/class, a bit more if I take the step Jazzercise class (that was actually my first class with them...very challenging).
Have lots of fun!!0 -
Yeah I printed a voucher that gets me my first class free so will definately give it a try on Monday! I have a HRM so I will let you know how many calories I burn!0

If you ever have a chance at taking a jazzercise class (which I see you do!), TAKE IT!!
I FREAKING loved it! I moved away from my rec center, and the distance and my schedule can't coincide with their schedule. I was super sad about that.
It's a relaxed environment with really nice people and a cool instructor. Have fun!0 -
bumping so I can see if you enjoyed the class!0
