I really need one but cant afford a Polar right now. My friend and her husband have Oregon Scientific SE102 LS Heart Rate Monitor. She's offered to sell me one of theirs because her husband doesnt use his. $20 bucks but there is mixed reviews online. It does have a chest trap. Any advice?

Should I wait until christmas...something is better than nothing??? Right now I'm just guessing with MFP calculations

    Hey sac,

Amazon has the Polar F4 for $60 with free shipping. I would defintely wait and invest if possible. I love my Polar:bigsmile:

I'd get the 20 for now and then at christmas try and get a polar. I LOVE my polar. I think you'd prob get close with the chest strap. at least you'dd have something better than other people's calculations which I have found to be wrong.

Got my sportline at Walmart for 47$ it has the chest strap. . they have one without for 27. . but I wouldn't recommend it. . .The chest strap is going to give you the most accurate reading.. . .

I just bought a Polar FT4 for $51 from Amazon and I get free shipping so it was a great deal. I went back and forth on if I really needed one but I am SO glad I bought this. It's really fun to use and I've been burning way more calories every day now because of it. (Exercising more to see that calorie counter go up, or I'll set a calorie goal and exercise until I meet it.)

I don't think you should spend $20 on a used, average HRM. Put the $20 aside and stick another $10 or $15 bucks in a week and soon you'll have enough to buy a good HRM and it won't feel like you're breaking the bank.
