Hey hey MFP family!! I'm a newbie from Maui, Hawaii looking for some positive encouragement and guidance towards my goal. I'm a feisty (35) wife & stay home Mother of 2 (ages 15 & 2 1/2). I have never had to loose weight before but, after having my last baby, I now need to loose 68 pounds!!! I have no clue on how to eat right because before now I could eat what I wanted to and not pay the price. As far as exercise...I totally enjoy Zumba. I go at least 4 times a week. I can set and achieve short term goals but it's the long term ones that tend to get forgotten and soon fade away. Loosing weight is looking like one of those long term goals that I'm gonna need help with!!
Please help me shed of the pounds and get out of these size 16's,back into the 3's & 5's and on the road to a HEALTHIER & HAPPIER life...TTYS!!:flowerforyou:

Welcome to MFP. Ive been using it for a week. It's a really great site for tracking food & exercise. Once you get into the habit of logging what youre eating you can see what you need to workoff and what foods you should eat less of. MFP has message boards that contain advice. Also, this site contains so many great people that support and help motivate. If you need support, feel free to add me! I wish the best on your journey!0

Hi!!! I'm a Newbie too!!! and guess what? we have something in common. I'M TAKING ZUMBA CLASSES TOO!!!!!
I really love it!!! My biggest problem is getting my eating right so that this weight will LEAVE.
You also sound like me when you said short term goals are easier to achieve than long term ones. Why is that?
why do we forget the long term ones. they just seeem to fade like you said.
I encourage you!! You will do it. I'm ready to leave size 16 too!!!!!!!:flowerforyou:0 -
