Hi everyone, I just joined. I am 26 and sadly weigh 158kg. I have struggled with binge eating since my early teens. I am hoping to talk with others who have binge eating disorder or a large amount of weight to lose. Hoping we can support each other to reach our goals. Feel free to add me or send me a message :)

Hey. I'm 52 yr female--5'9". I've lost 30 pounds here. Got 20 more to go.

I was taught to be overweight. I lost 20 pounds when I was 11. My mom lost 40 pounds 4-5 times in my life time. She probably should had lost 60-80 each time. She has lost 40 pounds on each & every diet out there. So I know they ALL work...temporarily. Her struggle has marked me. I view dieting very differently from just about everyone.

At 16 I realized youth was the easiest time to maintain my weight. It was only going to get tougher as I got older. So, I was very strict with myself for decades. Yes, I'm a binge eater. So, it wasn't easy. Most people ignored the weight management tips I'd give them 'cuz I was thin. My ideas weren't mainstream by any means. I did fruit/vegetable counting (If I was eating 5 servings a day, it lowered my junk food.) I forbid sweets before lunch. (Somehow pancakes didn't count. But never doughnuts.) I forbid seconds. Whatever I put on my plate the first time was all I was going to get.

I was single until I was 37. In some respects, that made it easier. I only had approved food in the house. Can't binge on what is not there.

I lost my battle of the bulge in my mid-40's. I had my first kid & became a stay-at-home mom at 39. I don't think it was the having kids part, but the drastic lifestyle change at the same time my metabolism crashed. My second kid was sickly (she out grew it!!). I started major stress eating at 43/44 years old, because of her. I didn't have time to go to the gym 'cuz of her, either. I gained 20 pounds the month I weaned her. Then I gained 20 pounds a year/lost 10 pounds a year thereafter. When I topped 200, I freaked! (At my height, 145ish is thin.)

Eating disorder? Binge eating has just been labeled an "eating disorder". It wasn't on the list when I was your age.

I have no tips because I struggle with this. It just takes time to shrink your stomach I think. Just eating less, over time. I wish you success!

    Hi !
I have also been a binge eater since my teenage years. Diagnosed and all. I am 44 now.

What triggered my mindset (the mind is everything) and got me to start facing my demons, start to take care of myself and take one step at a time towards the light... is when googling the disorder and searching for tools, I found www.runsforcookies.com. This girl is a real life success story and the most honest, soul baring, inspiring truth I have ever read. She wrote a "series on binge eating" as her own experience and I swear it was like looking in a mirror. I saw myself in her. I started doing it her way, which seemed to me the smartest most normal way to go about it and I am succeeding. Is it perfect ? No ! Is it linear ? No ! It is hard ? yes. Is it allllllll worthit ? HECK YA !

Go check her out and see what you think.
Feel free to add me as a friend if you would like to continue on each other's journey too (just mention this post)

If I can do this, you can do this. Trust me.

    :)
