OK...tomorrow I run my second 5k in 4 years (www.warriordash.com) I'm wondering what I should eat for breakfast?? Our "wave" starts at 1:30 pm so lunch can happen in there too OR, do I want to hold off on lunch until after?? I know they'll have water but should I still bring my own just in case?? I'm starting to freak out...not like FREAK OUT but I'm totally concerned about this thing now...weather is supposed to turn out AWESOME, like upper 80's! It's been 100+ here for the last (what seems like) weeks! I'm really looking forward to the 80's tomorrow. This morning I had a great 3 mile run here at home. Should I have not done that?? Just checking in with the 5k runners & such...

I really have no idea--just wanted to wish you GOOD LUCK at the Warrior Dash. It looks like so much fun. Good luck!!!0

Have a Carbohydrate rich snack about 3 hours prior to the start, don't have anything closer to the event and have lunch after.
Remember to drink lots of water from today, get yourself well hydrated. Make sure your urine is clear, if its dark yellow or orange you're dehydrated.
If it is very warm in your area try adding a little salt to your water, this will make your body retain more water (don't overdo it though, just a bit).

I did the Warrior Dash a couple weeks ago. The nice thing about it is that it doesn't seem like 5k, because you stop to do the obstacles. If you're a middle of the packer like me, sometimes the wait can be a few minutes. It's a nice rest until you start climbing the wall, etc.
Normal breakfast, then lunch on your free beer and grab a turkey leg. Bring a pair of either easily washable or disposable shoes. And have FUN! Not that there's any choice in the matter. Funnest race ever. Grueling. I'm more proud that I survived the Warrior Dash than I was finishing my first half Marathon. A couple of the obstacles were a little out of my comfort zone, but I did em.0 -
