Nutrition information incorrect

Has anyone else noticed that a lot of times the nutritional information is wrong on a lot of the entries. I have been watching my fiber closely for a few weeks and have been falling short so I started comparing the info on the package to the info on MPG and a lot of the numbers are just wrong. It isnt just fiber either. Thinking may be a good idea to make my own entries and save them. Will be a lot of work in the beginning but will be more accurate. Any thoughts or tips?

Sometimes they are wrong because either people entered them incorrectly or they were only concerned about one part of the nutritional information and didn't bother to put anything else in. Other times, especially for processed foods, the nutritional information will vary from area to area, or for that matter, over time with recipes being changed for one reason or another. It is always best to verify entries where you have the nutritional information to make sure it is correct. Once you have used this for a while, you will find you will have the correct entries in your recents. If you look at nutritional information, and then say it is incorrect, then choose to correct it, then it will be in your My Foods area.

Always double check. Lots of things are wrong. Sometimes with packaged foods the ingredients may change thus changing the nutrition info too.

Is there a process for letting MFP know about incorrect info or a way for me to change nutrition info in my food diary?

If a Food Database item is verified - has a green check mark, but contains the wrong nutrition information, only the MFP staff can edit the item. You can open a Case on the MFP Help/FAQ pages via Email Us to request an update to the verified item; you will have to provide the specific changes for the staff to do that.

If a Food Database item is not verified - does not have a green check mark, you can edit the database item.

Please see this article, and search for other helpful articles, on the MFP Help/FAQ pages...
