feeling fat today

So I don't feel so hot right now, just woke up and felt terrible about myself. I feel like my efforts haven't been successful lately. For my entire adult life I've been very careful about what I eat, and it showed (I was a size 00). But somehow I've crept up to a 2 and I cannot get back to my former size. Maybe I'm just down on myself because I know I have to go shopping today...I absolutely hate the thought of picking out larger sizes and--here's the kicker--I even have to shop in different stores than before. (I could only shop certain places because I was too small for a lot of companies.) I don't want to bring this negative energy shopping...could make for a very rough day! What do you do on days like this? HELP!

  • 1. I would KILL to be a size 2. (size 6/7 over here hiding in the corner...........)
    2. On days like that, I pick out sizes that are way bigger than my size and pretend they are my size and try them on and go "ooo, this is me in bigger pants, I'm so thin!" and even though it isn't true, it gives you a sub conscious confidence boost and it also shows you what you will look like when you lose weight :)
Good luck! Days like that suck! *hug*

I suggest that in days like this you have to go through MFP members blog and see how much effort they are putting to get to their desired goal and an awesome job that everyone is doing. You have to be feeling good, because you are on the right and healthy size and if you still are not feeling better, just exercise until you feel good. Have a great day :-)

When I get that feeling, I just accept the fact of who I am for THAT day. I think of what and why is making me feel that way. When I find that out, I ask myself if it is within my power to make it better. Don't be so hard on yourself.....that does not help you in any way. Tomorrow is another day....other opportunity to fix it. Go shopping with a positive attitude of finding something really nice....i'm sure you're look beautiful in it!!

Many of us go through times of feeling down about ourselves, whether we're a size 2 or a size 20. But a major success in life is when we can learn to accept ourselves for who we are, even though we are working to improve. Take a deep breath and try to focus on the parts of you that you like and think are beautiful. Look at how well the clothes fit and how great the colors look on you, etc. instead of just thinking about the size on the tag. it also may help to talk to someone positive who is supportive of you and share your concerns with them. Good luck.

Great answer!!! Love the learning to accept ourselves for who we are part.

So I definitely didn't buy anything because I don't feel like anything looks that great on me right now, but I did fit in a few 0s. So that isn't too bad. Well actually I take that back, I got a Lilly planner for school and a new pair of Brooks for when my marathon training starts. But no clothes. Thanks for all the support though!
