Ebay/customs help!

I ordered something on Ebay from Australia (I am in the us) and I didn't notice that I had to pay custom fees. Do you know what will these will fees be? This is the first thing I have ever ordered from Ebay. I am so worried because I am super poor and cannot afford a ton more fees! Thanks!

This is what it says -

Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.
These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.

Here's a link to import rules on internet purchases for the US: http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/trade/basic_trade/internet_purchases.xml

I don't live in the US so I can't be 100% sure, but where I live you only have to pay import duty on things over a certain price. If the item is low in value and for personal use, then there most likely shouldn't be any import tax.
