Hello,

Not an easy thing to do give up the sugar, there is sugar in everything we eat. But it can be done. I have done it in the past and I"m here to tell ya it works. I have been fighting doing it but I'm at a plateau and I know it will help. It's one of the healthiest things we can do. I know that when I ate boxed cereals I just made sure that the sugar content was one of the last ingredients. I stayed away from heavy starches such as potatoes and pastas as well. You will see lbs melt away. When I worked these things back in they were whole grain.
What caused me to gain the weight back, was those nasty old habits. Like weeds they krept back.
Anyway, I am about 25lbs away from where I want to be. I have been 25lbs from where I want to be for a few months. Time to kick it!!!
If you want to brave the waters with me, come join me.
Kim

I was having a discussion with a couple of friends yesterday and we got on this topic. On of my friends turned me onto this YouTube video. It's very long, an hour and a half, but it's so well done. It's done by a physician who works at an obesity clinic in San Francisco. Long story short, he argues that the obesity problem in America can be placed squarely in the lap of sugar intake, specifically high fructose corn syrup. The video was very technical but incredibly eye opening. I think I was most amazed when he described how our livers metabolize processed fructose. It's almost identical to the process used to metabolize alcohol with many of the same damaging effects and by products. He flat out called high fructose corn syrup poison.

I went no sugar last summer for awhile and I honestly never felt as good as I did then. Sugar is my biggest weakness. It's my drug of choice. It was really hard because yes sugar is in pretty much everything, but that's why you have to read labels carefully. I totally fell off the bandwagon eventually but hopefully I can get back on it because sugar is pure evil!

I am a sugar addict. Starting now I am trying to cut back. I have been eating cookies/candy/whatever every day, just not as much as I used to. Now I am going to try to go 2 or 3 days without any processed sugary stuff. I am hoping that it will melt some of my belly fat away!!
