Head down to the Success area of the forums or the Maintenance section-there's quite a few 50yr+ people here who've been incredibly successful with their weight and fitness goals1

1. don't starve yourself - give yourself plenty of calories. I'm at 1600 and losing.
2. focus on nutrition and heart healthy
3. get a food scale (they are next to the measuring cups at stores).
4. diets don't work. a life eating plan will work
5. track your calcium instead of carbs.
6. get at least 46 grams of protein a day
7. get at least 21 grams of fiber a day
8. get those "healthy fats" in. Avocados, salmon, almonds.2
