I am just back from the store with my long list of additional protien suggestions that came from a previous community post. I did get and try turkey jerky and I do like! Score. Only 100 calories too. I got a couple of the EA Advantage choc shakes to try, individually also only around 100 calories. I am also trying apple cider vinegar which I saw on a posting was something folks have tried and some with extra success. I need to find a recipe or two for a whitefish called "swai". Anyone know of any grilled or baked suggestions before I look on the www? I did get some natural peanut butter, chili beans, veg baked beans, 1% cottage cheese for variety. I wanted Chobani yogurt but Walmart doesn't carry. Will pick some up at another store later. I got some sardines to try "again" as my childhood memories aren't the greatest. Any ideas for sardines besides on a salad? I got a bunch of tuna and am going to give the package variety a shot again. Hard to get used to it after growing up with the canned variety. Well, I just wanted to say thank you and please add anything you like that will help. Ps....any ideas with lentils? I have had them in soup and that's about it. Didn't much care for the side dish version I had a while back.   :flowerforyou:

you can try adding lentils to rice! try searching biryani.... it's a South Asian (India, etc) way of making rice... and instead of the white rice you usually use for it you can try with wild or brown rice?
  • My favorite way to cook any kind of white fish is to pan fry it in about a tablespoon of lime juice and then top it with pico de gallo (preferably homemade, but some store-bought varieties are pretty good, too). Quick, easy to make, and delicious!

I have lentil soup (healthy choice variety, but I add Nature's own seasoning and a tsp of olive oil to make taste like a restaurant. Only 350 calories for a two serving container:) Delish!
In addition, Ezekiel bread has protein, I like the raisin cinnamon variety with sour cream on top (it sounds weird, but it is sooooo good:)
