Petite Advantage Diet

Hi; I am trying the Petite AdVantage Diet. As a lifelong yo-yo dieter, and a petite (4'11"), I've tried it all. The diet promises weight loss and body toning. I've been on it for almost two weeks; I lost 5 pounds in the first 3 days, then nothing since. Has anyone else tried this diet? If so, what were your results?

is that the one for those 5"4 and under where they reccomend you eat a bigger breakfast and a lighter lunch and dinner. that is the one I am doing. I weighed 209 pounds at start and am at 197 pounds now. only been at it for a month?0

Hi; I wanted to update this post. I have been on the plan now for just over 6 weeks. I have lost 10 pounds, and I know I've lost inches, but haven't measured yet. Everyone says they can already see a big difference in the way I look.
I also had a physical last week. My numbers on cholesterol, etc. were better than they have been in a long time (total chol. 135). I asked the doctor about the 1100 calories, because that it such a topic of debate here on MFP. She said that because I am so short (4'11"), it is ok as long as I don't feel weak or shaky. I actually feel better than I have in a long time. You can eat quite a lot of food for 1100 calories, if you are choosing fruits, veggies, lean proteins, etc.
I even e-mailed the author with a question, and received a very prompt reply. I am losing a little slower than what it says in the book, but at 58, I can't expect to lose very fast. Still, this is the best start I've had in a very long time, so I am hoping it will continue. :happy:1 -
I just checked this book out from the library. I have just skimmed it but from what I can see it looks very doable. BTW, I am 4'9" and am currently 157. I hope to get down to 125 then see how I feel.0

I have just finished reading this book and think it makes some valid points for us shorties. I am now trying to fuse the mfp app and the book into some kind of workable program. It is slightly discouraging every 3 days to have mfp say you are 500 calories over your goal due to the calorie cycling component of the petite advantage, but that is something i'm continuing to get my head around. I wish there was a way to pre-program in your calorie goal for the day. That way you could set it to 1100, 1100, 1600 on repeat and you would not feel as though you were being bad on your 1600 day. Im sure this feature would benefit many other mfp users as well. I know many people that want a "day off" once a week where they can increase their calorie consumption. As for the exercise component, I do think their is merit in increasing strength training but not at the expense of some moderate cardio too. I like Jillian Michaels 30 day shred (im on day 3) as it combines a little cardio with a little strength, and the way my legs feel today is obviously doing something! Lets see what happens over the next 30 days.1

So glad to find this thread on here. I just purchased the book from Amazon.com in hopes that it will help. I am 5'0 and weigh close to 200lbs. I also turned 50 in May and am having a dickens of a time getting the scale to move.0
