I want to breathe!

I was diagnosed with asthma quite awhile ago. My asthma attacks were never that bad. But after my breathing problems worsened recently, I was sent to a pulmonologist. He tells me I don't have asthma at all. I never had it! My breathing problems, he said, are caused by my weight. I am an apple shape. And I am short. The weight of my stomach is pushing up, restricting my !ung capacity. So, I'm going to see if I can change that. I've been on this site before, liked it. So, here we go!

That must have been devastating to hear. In 2010 I was diagnosed with cancer. I no longer have it now, but at the time I was told that a huge contributing factor to me even getting it in the first place was being overweight. :( So I totally get it.

Well no, not devastating exactly. Back when I was diagnosed with asthma, doctors were reluctant to tell someone that he/she were overweight out of fear of getting sued. And some still are, I think. I appreciate this doctor's honesty. And I'm glad to know that I can do something to change it.
