Cooked or uncooked?

When recording your meats chicken, beef etc do you record the uncooked weight or the cooked weight?

    At the point it is cooked, it is in many cases inseparably mixed with other ingredients, therefore it is just way easier to measure everything uncooked and then not have to think about it anymore.

    Raw. During cooking food loses moisture, meaning it weighs less when cooked yet has the same calorific value. For example, let's say a food item weighs 100g raw and has 100 calories. When cooked, that same item may only weigh 80 grams but still has 100 calories. If you're counting food items after cooking you could be unintentionally overeating.

    If you for some reason have to measure something cooked, there are specific database items for cooked/seared/.../prepared food. Take care to choose the appropriate one.
