Hi folks
I'm a scared newbie.
Ive tried many forms of diet regime and I am greatful to have found this free dieting aid.
I am very over weight. Are there any super sized people on this site.
Experience is key.
I know what doesn't work .
I am on a last ditch attempt to avoid the gastric bypass.
I had a gastric band and had to have it removed.
I am amazed at the suggested amount of calories.
I was either staying the same or going up in weight on the hospital diet.
So here I am .
Day 6 of a healthier life style.
I am disabled and can't do much but im adding movement daily.
How do I find out how many calories a day to have.
The usual 1,000 a day from a general practitioner is extreme.
Any info really appreciated.
Thanks folks

Plug in your stats on MFP and it will give you the amount of calories you need to consume with no exercise to lose 2lbs a week approximately.

Welcome.
There are some great and informative stickies on the intro thread1 -
Also get a food scale. Weigh your food. The amount is not as big as you think of not used to weighing foods.
Good luck you can do this.2 -
I weighed out a snack for the first time. Thank you for the good info. The scales were at the back of the cupboard. Now they will be used daily for everything. amtyrell thank you for the encouragement.x
