once again I've let myself go and gain 40 + pounds. when I was 24 I did a transformation contest got in shape years later gained weight. at 46 I gain muscle and lost fat, I was 208 with 20% body fat not shredded but still looked good. now 47 I'm 242 with 35% body fat and haven't lifted a weight in a year. I'm giving up the 12 week fix plans and fad diets you cant live on and going with a plan more realistic that I can stick to for the rest of my life. at 47 the body is breaking done a lot.
I'm married and love my wife and kids so I'm not looking for anything other than just weight loss and honest information on diet and training.
I've done tough mudder, Spartan, and some sprint tris.

Feel free to add me. I log daily, not active on the forums but happy to help any way I can via message.
Been through a similar path as yourself I guess. The short term stuff I found easy, it is the sustainability that is really tough..changing that mindset to a true long term outcome.0 -

Well age is only a number. You are only as old as you feel. I think you have the right metal approach because when you think of it as a diet you have short term goals. When you think of it as more of a lifestyle change the results are more long term. I suggest getting your family involved in your fitness and eating healthy. Make it a family event. Create good habits for your children and lead by example. My family goes kayaking and hiking. It keeps us all healthy and active. We let our kids pick the adventures sometimes as well. Get a map and say all the rivers you can go explore and let them chose where you go. Have the kids help make dinner. Feel free to add me and best of luck!!0
