I just looked at my nutrition report since I began MFP 1 month ago. Everyday I have gone over in my sugar ( i'm allowed 24 ) I usually consume about 50 -70. Protein (i'm allowed 45) I usually consume about 80. No matter how hard I try I can't stay under 50 for sugar.

Am I alone?

  • Sugar is one thing I NEVER go over! I won't allow myself. Protein is ok though as long as you are working out. Otherwise your body has an easier time storing it as fat.

I go over on Sugar and Sodium. :grumble: (more so sodium, which is strange to me since I don't EVER reach for the salt shaker and things usually taste too salty for me. )

    I upped my protein...but I am over on sugar a lot...and I know that's not good!

Does anyone have any low/no sugar snacks? I love yogurt, but goodness, sometimes there are 15 sugars in a 6 oz. serving!

I am on target or just above in sugar, but over on sodium and protein. The sodium really aggrivates me, need to get that down.
  • I am always over on sugar, sodium, and protein. As long as I am losing the weight, I don't mind.

    Spicy,
You really need to look at what you are eating and change your diet. Start looking over your diary to figure out what products it is that you are consuming that have such a high sugar content and start looking for alternatives. If it is bottled juices and the like, there are plenty of alternatives, WATER, that you can do. Look into it a little bit and I am sure that you will have no problem making the right adjustments.

Try Dannon Light & Fit Carb & Sugar Control- it has 2g sugar, 45 calories, 1.5 fat, and 3 carbs per 1 4oz. serving. The Vanilla Cream is delicious with fresh fruit! :-)

Funny, you mention that. I just began a concerted effort to reduce my sugar. For the past 3 days, I have managed to keep it at 15g per day. (my goal). I am usually under for protein. ( So looking for ways to increase protein w/o increasing sodium (usually 2100-2500 grams)
My snacks have been one piece - Ghirardelli 85% Cocoa 2 gr, 1 snack pack-Hunts sugar free cho/vanilla 0 sugar, 1/2 cup-Jello sugar free (any flavor) 0gr, 1 cup - Healthy choice chicken noodle soup-1gr s

    Thanks for the great suggestions!

I usually go over because of fruit... oranges, nectarines, apples are my daily fruit servings... if not then I have fruit salad in light syrup. I'm gonna have to try to adjust things and see how I can lower my sugar intake.
  • those r the 2 things that i always go over.....its usually bananas and skim milk that makes my sugar higher. i have those everyday so im not sure how to lower my sugar intake ???
