Fasting

I want to try out fasting. I've read and heard a lot of good things about it but want to be sure I'm doing it right. Since I lift Mon, Wed, Fri I was thinking of a 24 hour fast on Saturday. So do you have a normal meal on Friday night or a bigger meal? Is it water only or is coffee, tea acceptable as well? Should you drink more water than normal? And on Sunday morning do you just start with a normal, clean breakfast? Thanks for your help!!

It's just not eating for 24 hours - if you're healthy, there isn't much wrong you can do.
There are no calories in pure tea and coffee, so if your goal is to not take in calories, they are okay.
You may benefit from drinking a bit more to replace the fluids you're not getting from food.
I wouldn't worry about "eating clean". Ask 100 people and get 100 different definitions.4 -

Don't over complicate it. Have your normal dinner Friday night & then 24 hours later eat dinner Saturday night. Going all the way to Sunday morning would be closer to a 36 hr fast. Any non-calorie drink is ok. Water, black coffee, unsweetened tea.1 -

I fasted once for a day allowing myself to only eat cauliflower (which I hated). Cooked it and set a big heap on the counter top. I have liked cauliflower since them.2

You go normal before, and you go normal after. Zero cal drinks during is allowed.1

I do fasting for 16 hours a day and work out 6-7 days a week. That works for me but I guess it depends on how heavy you lift.
You can drink coffee and tea as long as you put no sugar or milk in it.1 -

I currently do IF ( 16:8 method) and maybe throw in a 24 hr fast every few weeks. My goal is to drop BF% not necessarily weigh. Hydration is key any day of the week!1 -
I don't do anything different before or after. I just stop and restart eating at the designated times. I typically fast for 36 hours when I do it. From 10 p.m. Sunday to 10 a.m. Tuesday. I'm rarely more hungry on Tuesday than on days when I haven't fasted. It's a nice way to create a deficit.1
