I just started working out from home...

I live a very sedentary lifestyle. I started doing aerobics for beginners from YouTube. My legs are very sore from the squats. So I have a question. Do I suck it up and continue to do more squats even through I'm sore or do I give it a rest and do something else? All suggestions and advice is welcome. I have no experience on this matter. Not even sure what the heck im doing lol

The important thing is that your doing something and I've found that workout videos on YouTube are great... Check out Millionaire Hoy, he's got some great stuff...
As for working out sore legs, honestly I do it often but I've also been at it for a while...
I would recommend taking a day or two to recover then get back at it when you feel you can put forth a good effort. When you're sore, the muscle is compromised and prone to injury, especially if your soreness centers around joints and tendons...
After a working out few weeks, you won't get sore like that again, unless you try something new...
In the meantime, walks or upper body work is nice!
Great job!2 -
I would keep on doing the squats. It will make the soreness go away quicker, or maybe working through the pain/soreness makes the normal soreness more bearable.
Stretching or foam rollers can help with soreness.2 -
Stretch, continue if you can, but rest if you need to. I generally will rest 1-2 days when I get terribly sore, then slowly work back into it. You can always do something different for a few days.1

I say keep going but do a lighter activity like walking and avoid the squats a day or two. The activity will actually help relieve the soreness. Squat soreness is the worst at first but will get better over time. And I agree with above mention of Millionaire Hoy on YouTube. Love his workouts!1

I used to LOVE walking. I would walk about 7 miles a day, up hills and all that. I stopped because I got an infection on my toe. Currently waiting for the referral to go through for surgery. After that, I'm all for it. I love hiking as well, it kicks my *kitten* but I actually enjoy it. Just waiting... while I wait I want to do exercises from YouTube videos, which also kick my *kitten* lol even the beginner ones.0

So sorry to hear that!
Maybe swimming or some plyometric exercises focusing on another body part (like push-ups)? Have you tried Step aerobics? I just started back again and I burn almost as many calories per hour as I do when I run! It's fun, too. I think it would be easy on your toe but IDK. If you're curious check out Jenny Ford on YouTube.
I use to have infections caused by ingrown toenails and it was the worst. Hope you get the surgery and heal up soon!1
