I could not imagine my life without a vitamix. My husband wanted to get one for YEARS and I said No No No! Too much money, we won't get enough use, who needs smoothies anyways, etc. He ended up buying it on sale on Boxing Day, and we have used it ever single day since. I use it for smoothies, for cooking, for "nut" sauces like cashew cream, nut milks, soups, fancy frosty alcoholic drinks etc. It's a great investment. If you can budget it in, I'd highly recommend it.

Ninja Kitchen System... 1500 watts. Cheaper than a Vitamix, and powerful enough to make smooth margaritas. :drinker:

If you're doing small batch or single servings, I highly recommend this one:

I don't have a specific brand or blender to recommend but I do recommend getting one with multi level blades instead of one with only blades on the bottom. It makes a big difference when blending smoothies and similar mixes.

I have a Vitamix and it's pretty amazing. Expensive, but I'd say worth it!

Only when it's not as powerful as a vitamix. There is no need for multi level blades in top of the line blenders like vitamix blentec or breville.

I have a VitaMix (love it!!!), And a BreVille immersion blender. When making a quick smoothie or protien shake for myself, the immersion ones are amazing, and easier to clean.

Oster Fusion here-have used it almost daily for years now, going through a LOT of ice/frozen fruits (bananas, large berries, my greens 'disks'), and the thing continues to work perfectly. When it dies I'll be getting another one!
