If it's a real steakhouse, you'll always have seafood options. Raw bar for the appetizer, broiled or grilled fish or shellfish for the entree. If no simple broiled or grilled seafood options, then any seafood dish will probably be reasonable unless it's fried or covered in a rich sauce. Beware of portion sizing as steakhouses can be generous to match their high prices.

That said, beef isn't that bad. About 75 calories per cooked ounce regardless of the cut as long as you trim off most of the fat. Just watch the portion sizes and beware of the fact that most good steak restaurants will liberally coat their steaks in butter before serving. Add about 200 calories to account for this.

For sides - plain baked potato. I'd actually stick with a salad for veggies are steakhouse vegetables are usually drowned in butter or other rich sauce.

Skip dessert or just eat the berries off a creme brulee or something.

I would do the crab cake with a side of asparagus or the haricot vert or broccoli, that sounds yummy. I am imagining you dont eat out at places that like all that often so from other stuff i've read just follow your calories well the rest of the week.
