    I'm from Oregon, but just took a 7 day ride down through California.

    101 to Legget, then Highway 1 to Malibu. Then we cut over and headed to San Bernadino. Last stop was Salton Sea, before we headed back. Great ride.

    We drove there (Yosemite) 2 years ago with Texas plates. There are more unique biomes in a 50 mile stretch from the central valley up to Yosemite/Sequoia NP than there is over the entire southeastern US.

    No wonder Cali has so many environmentalists.
