When having a baked potato do you put the raw weight in for the calorie count or the baked weight? Can't seem to find anything online to explain it. Thanks.

I use the raw weight. The cooked weight can be variable depending on cooking time.

Edit: Just make sure to use the appropriate data base entry. It says something like potatoes, raw, flesh and skin.

Always do raw and make sure you use a database entry that specifies raw. It is the most accurate because different cooking methods will change the moisture content thus changing the weight. There is no way to know how the changes affect calories.

I assume you eat the skin also.

If its a single potato for me i weigh and logged raw weight. . If its a meal for me and my family i dont bother trying to keep track of "my" potato and weigh cooked and log cooked. dont forget to log any butter or anything you put on. . mmm sour cream and hot sauce.

Use the entry that matches what state you weighed it in.
