From Atkins to MyFitnessPal

Hi Everyone, I was doing Atkins diet for 3 months b4 the summer and lost 10KG but I stopped doing it over the summer as I was on holiday and put it all back on within 4wks. So its defo not sustainably. MyFitnessPal looks like a great way to sustain my weight once ive lost it.

    MFP is a useful tool in logging your daily caloric intake. Recognising what Macros you are taking in and recording exercise output.

    The daily blogs are useful with up to date nutrition health tips and advice from specialist dietitians.
    Make use of the delicious recipes and meal planning tips.

    This is a lifetime commitment. Not a quick fix.
    It takes time. Lots of small changes over a lifetime.
    A diet that covers a wide and varied range of nutritious and healthy fresh food from fruit, vegetables, lean meats, whole grains, dairy, nuts, legumes and seeds, will not only ensure you will stay healthy, it will keep you interested.

    I have been on this journey a long time.
    I am happy to offer advice and support.

    You are taking new and positive steps.
    You are well on your way.

    Thanks very much for your wise words and pointers on how to sustain MFP plan. I will take all into account and will hopefully see the results come slowly but surely.

    MFP really isn't a plan all by itself, it's a tool to help you with whatever plan you choose and then tweak to make work properly for you. You're going to find many people here doing all kinds of things -- named diets, intermittent fasting, IIFYM, low carb, high carb, low fat, high fat, vegans and vegetarians, packaged programs like Jenny Craig and Slimming World and all the others. Plus lots of information and discussion on exercise and fitness. What MFP helps focus on is calories in v. calories out (CICO); the kinds of foods you eat are up to you. (You'll also find A LOT of opinions on every subject under the sun. Some are good information, some are sheer woo.)

    You'll need to be the one to make MFP sustainable. It's not a magic bullet, just a tool. Good luck!!

    That is the best way. Google what eating plan interests you and research it fully.
    Don't trust the first information you read as it can conflict but I do believe the MFP blogs are up to date and informative.
    But always look into what suits you and what is sustainable.

    If you don't stick at any plan you will regain your lost weight and that's any plan
