New change.

I originally started this because of one picture my son took of me before leaving for Boot camp in the Army. That was in June 2016. I cut my calories, watched what I was eating and started exercising more than just sitting on my butt. I weighed in around 280. When he posted this picture on facebook I knew something had to change.
I hated myself for allowing this to happen. I wasn't feeling well and decided if he could make the commitment to serve his country I will make a commitment to get healthier. My original goal was to get down at least 50lbs by the time he graduated in November. I did not lose what I thought I would but I did continuously lose about 35lbs.
I went to his graduation in Missouri and he never even noticed I was had lost any. But that didn't get me down. I did maintain that until around beginning of the year and decided I wanted to do more. I started taking Garcinia Cambogia. I did lose a little more and then looked into Nutrisystem. It was so expensive but what was the cost of my health? I was on that from January until beginning of August 2017. I did lose more so I am down to around 208.
But I plateaued again and wanted more. I was stuck in a rut. I had heard from a friend about Ketogenic diet. I researched it and thought OMG that is high fat, min protein and very low carb. I had at one point in my life attempted the Atkins diet and really liked it but was told by my doctor it wasn't good for me. So I had stopped. Well there is more research now and more testimonials of people changing to a keto lifestyle and I want to try it. So I did. For now I am feeling amazing. Only started this part of my journey last week but so far with increasing my daily calorie intake I have lost 4.3lbs in one week. I am tolerating the changes well. I did have a bit of keto brain the third and fourth days but seems to have cleared. No recent pictures yet but I will post when I have them. My goal is 150. I am already down from the beginning size of 28 to 18. Alot has changed in my life, my Dad passed away in January, my Mom had another seizure in April and now have to go up at least once a week to check on her, my nephew graduated high school in June then crashed his car in DWI in August just before getting ready to go to college, my boyfriend moved in with me in August, my daughter is getting ready to start her last year of high school and still doesn't have a license but I got her a car to drive. So much change, some positive some not so. That's life though. But I want to be around for as long as I can in the here and now. I will persevere.
So far keto lifestyle is good and have read so much about it already. I want to do this and I will. Oh I also started running in July. Small steps. Never ran before in my life. Very small steps for me But I will get it and already enjoy it knee braces and all. Just don't push it too hard. This is one thing I do for me. I've done so much for so many before and I want this for me! God Bless!
