52 years old and 52 pounds to lose

Hello All,
I have had a myfitnesspal account for a while but just now really starting to use it.
I have lost about 40lbs already - but struggling to get more off - so going to enjoy being part of this community for support, friendship, tips, etc.
I walk 45 minutes a day and am thinking about trying for a 5k.
Would love to hear from other middle aged women who's kids are grown and are working on losing similar amounts of weight...

I started my fitness journey in 2014 at the age of 55. I started out only doing cardio (rowing). It took me over 2 years to lose over 50 lbs. I eventually started lifting weights and that helped with weight/fat loss. I got hooked and became a competitive powerlifter. It was actually easier for me to lose the weight in my 50's vs. 20's/30's/40's

Hi... I'm 56 and started my weight loss journey 3 years ago. Was 217lbs at my heaviest, now 113. I swim so that's been my mainstay for exercise. Back in Nov-16 I got myself a fitbit and started to focus on 10k steps a day. It's now become a habit and last week I did 10km a day on average.1
