This is going to sound really weird...

But I'm kind of not looking forward to reaching my target weight. As much as I want to look and feel great, I LOVE that feeling when you step on the scales each week and mentally pat yourself on the back.

I can imagine how easy it is for people to reach their target and think 'just another couple of pounds...'

Has anyone else had this experience? I am worried that I won't be able to stop...

I worry about it, but I figure I will cross that bridge when I get there.
  • Then it wil be the "maintence" bridge you will have to cross.

I have a similar worry. I read on someone's blog once that maintenance is "all the work of weight loss, without the glory." It may be better to focus on how you think you look and how healthy you feel instead of the readout on the scale. Everyone's weight loss journey is different, and I started with 190-210 pounds to lose. I have weighed weekly since I started. I now have 40-60 left to lose, and plan on moving away from the scale little by little - weighing every two weeks, then monthly as I ease into maintenance.
  • then you start looking at fat %

Almost everyone who gets close to their goal weight begins to think about toning up, gaining muscle, sculpting buttocks, etc. You just start having new goals, basically.

You'll have new non-weight goals. Maybe running a 5K, or doing it faster, lowering body fat percentage, etc.
