Garmin Tech Question

Hey Guys. I was off the grid for most of summer, and I just got settled into my new place. Once I got my scale going again (Garmin Smart Scale) I noticed that MFP had logged the exact weight from it. Did Garmin and MFP start syncing up on the weight numbers?

Hope everyone here has had a fantastic summer!

I don't have a Garmin scale, so can't comment uploading part, but I have a Garmin watch, so I use Garmin Connect app. Weight I manually log in MFP gets always synced down to Garmin Connect.

I have Garmin... well... everything haha. I have 2 Garmin watches, the scale, hiking GPS unit.... I know I'm missing one or two things haha. I swear by Garmin. As a company, they have never been anything but great to me. Just a weird quirky type thing. I'll keep an eye on it

I agree regarding watches, though they are still missing one crucial feature in modern world.
    A scale though...

I've been happy with it. It measures body fat percentage, body water content, BMI, among other things (not trying to be a salesperson here, truly). Some of the really tech-y reviews I've read (you can check out DC Rainmaker's here; he's my favorite fitness tech blogger) say that the numbers can be off by as much 5-10% (if I remember correctly). But it gives you a standard for measurement.

What crucial feature are the watches missing?

Offline music playback of course. So I would finally be able to go for a run an leave my phone at home. Most of the competition has it by now.

    I like Ray's reviews too.
Still, Garmin (and Fitbit for that matter) is not a scale company. It's not their core business. I'm sure it's a fine, decent scale, but for a price...
I like my Omron scale, though not "connected" it has 4 point body measurement, so probably bit more accurate, as much as such measuring really can be.

Ah, yeah. I never run with music, so I didn't even think of that! Being able to put podcasts on the watch would make long runs much more entertaining, though!

I agree that Garmin isn't a scale company, you're absolutely right. But when I bought it, I figured that the rest of my stuff was Garmin and the reviews were solid enough that I'd keep it consistent. I don't remember ever coming across Omron when I was looking.
