I gained 30 lbs on Citalopram. It made me super hungry 24/7. I changed to Effexor teo weeks ago, lost 8 lbs so far, and feel so much better!

I took it years ago and gained 40 pounds in about 5 months. I didn't mind so much since my weight was not a priority at the time, but now I'm still carrying it around
I didn't much like it or my psychiatrist so I ended up weaning off it with my gp and just doing therapy-only approach. A few weeks later my psychiatrist called to tell me to stop taking it IMMEDIATELY because of some concerns about risks to one's heartThis was about 7 years ago so I don't know if those potential risks ended up being nothing. Kinda scary though
